Biathlon in running shoes - Open Individual Start You've probably seen it on TV. The biathletes competing in cross-country skiing and shooting. Pulse and concentration, intensity, excitement and extreme competition. Now is the opportunity to try your hand at the sport yourself. We replace the skis with running shoes. But otherwise everything else is exactly the same. You can participate both as experienced biathletes and as completely new ones who just want to challenge each other in a different exciting running competition. Saturday, May 17, 2025 (Experienced biathletes) from 12:00 PM Sunday, May 18, 2025 (Intro classes) from, 8:30 Address:  Ballerup Skytteforning, Råmosen 40, 2750 Ballerup The competition is held as a time trial, where you run 5x1.5km and shoot 4 series of 5 shots. Each miss is penalized with a penalty round of 70 m. You shoot with biathlon rifles cal. .22. It is a weapon that everyone can handle with a little expert instruction and aids. Some fruit is served to get your energy back at the finish line. The event is unstructured so everyone over 15 years of age can participate. There is a personal introduction to the competition and instruction in shooting prior to the race. Rifles and equipment are provided to everyone in the Intro classes. You only need normal running clothes adapted to the weather. Please note that the race is a time trial, where you are assigned a start time during the day. Participation in the advanced race on May 17, 2025 requires experience with standing shooting, access to your own ('borrowed') weapon and affiliation with a biathlon or shooting club in Denmark or abroad. Distances and shooting Intro classes: Each participant runs 5x1.5km; Shooting 4x prone w/o support and strap; Penalty rounds 70m. Advanced classes: Each participant runs 5x1.5km; Shooting: Lying, Standing, Lying, Standing w/o support; Penalty rounds 70m. No later than Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 5:00 PM on a first-come, first-served basis. Maximum number of participants 250 for Intro Intro: DKK 270.00 participation fee + DKK 30.00 ammunition. (DKK 300.00) Advanced: DKK 150.00 participation fee The participation fee for Intro includes ammunition, initial instruction, loan of all necessary equipment including weapons, personal assistance at the shooting range, water cannon, fruit and live race times. If you know someone you would like to start with, just make sure to register with the same "club/company" name. We try to put you in the same intro group and keep your start times as close as possible. Please note that we cannot guarantee a specific start time on the day in advance and that if there are full participants, start times will be distributed throughout the day. Late registration It will be possible to register late on the day of the race if there are available places or if there have been cancellations.
